BrosephDavid - Gamer, cosplayer, actor and beanie connoisseur. Brospeh has had tremendous success with his cosplay and acting adventures. Naturally we were excited to sit down with him and ask him a few questions about it all.

Thanks for taking the time to speak with us! - We gotta know, what was your first cosplay?

My very first cosplay was actually Rick Grimes from the Walking Dead! It was for a  TWD parody I made to Katy Perry's "This is How We Do" song. Hospital gown and all! Haha!

What's the best part of cosplay for you?

The best part of cosplay for me is getting to bring my favorite characters to life.

As an actor and creative artist, it's an exciting challenge to figure out how to become my favorite characters, and make them seem as real as possible! Seeing that final finished project is so rewarding, and Getting to share it with my fellow nerdy friends is the best!

Do you make your own costumes or do you buy them?

Most of my costumes are made from various items I find at thrift stores, flea markets, you name it! I do a LOT of painting haha. My purple Joker coat was found at an old local flea market. It was bright red.. but I needed a purple one, so I hand painted it purple with angelus leather paint. It was intense! My hands still hurt from painting for so many weeks! Okay.. they're fine.

That's awesome! Do you stick to one genre?

I don't really stick to any one genre of nerd-dom, however I tend to cosplay as my favorite film and tv characters the most. Love to do more video game and anime chargers this year!

What is your best cosplay memory?

My all-time favorite cosplay memory is a tie between meeting Jared Leto at San Diego Comic Con while I was cosplaying as his version of the Joker. We bro-hugged and got that "once in a lifetime" selfie haha and making my 'Dangerous Villain' Suicide Squad parody with my sisters and two of our friends that cosplay as Enchantress and Batman. We were rolling on the floor laughing all week!

Have you won any cosplay awards?

I won DC Comics' & Warner Bro's official Suicide Squad cosplay contest as the Joker along with my sister Heidi Mae and 9 other extremely talented cosplayers. It was a dream come true! DC Comics flew all of us out to San Diego for Comic Con and surprised us with meeting the whole cast of the film on stage during their SS comic con panel!

Heidi and I also won people's choice award and a few others at Anime St Louis (con) for our Suicide Squad Bohemian Rhapsody lip-sync performance. It was so much fun!

What an incredible experience. One of our founders is from San Diego, so we have a special place in our hearts for San Diego.

Have you worn cosplay in a regular situation? (eg. at school, to work)

One time when I was on my way to my Daryl Dixon motorcycle shoot, I had to go into the grocery store...I was in full Daryl cosplay, Wig and all!

What was your most comfortable cosplay and most uncomfortable cosplay?

My most comfortable cosplay is definitely Doctor Who (11th Doctor) Also one of my favorite characters to play! I Ad-lib a lot of my lines as him...and it never stops being fun.

Any unfinished costumes? If yes, do you think you'll ever finish them?

Haha yeah.. I've got a few projects I started work on that probably won't ever see the light of day...but that's how it goes. When you're creating multiple things you have to prioritize which ones are the most important to you, and focus on that.

I'm sure I'll get around to finishing the second tier Cosplays sometime soon.

What is your favorite cosplay item?

My favorite cosplay item is hands down my purple Joker cane! I've use it in so many shoots, and taken on numerous plane rides with me. I always get the strangest looks when I'm walking with it in the airport haha. One guy was like "Woah...you a pimp man?" I just kind of shrugged and said "Something like that".

Haha, that is rad! Who is your cosplay idol?

I don't have have any idols. That being said there are a lot of talented artists that really inspire me and encourage me to go all out in my own projects. Ben  (@Maul_Cosplay) is one of my favorites. Phenomenal artist and a fellow german. His fan-films are legendary!

What is it about Mainframe that first caught your attention? What do you think we should release next?

I love Mainframe's Gamer glasses! For as long as I can remember, I've had to stop gaming due to getting headaches from staring at the tv for too long. Or when I'm editing a film I'm working on, my eyes get tired from looking at the screen. Your glasses fix that, and I love it! Also, your appeal is freaking awesome! I'm actually wearing our grey mainframe T-shirt right now haha. #perfectfit
